Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
New skills are imparted to the client to manage painful emotions and conflict resolution in relationships in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. DBT particularly focuses on imparting therapeutic skills in four important sectors

- Mindfulness emphasizes improving the acceptance of and being present in the current moment.
- Distress tolerance emphasizes increasing the understanding of negative emotion, rather than trying to escape from it.
- Emotion Regulation deals with managing and changing the problem causing intense feelings. Interpersonal Effectiveness deals with communicating with others confidently, maintaining self-respect, and
- strengthening relationships.
