What We Did

Centred on operant conditioning, Contingency management (CM), also known as motivational incentives, gives the patients rewards for desired behaviors such as clean drug tests. On the other hand, disciplinary actions or withhold of privileges is also made, when the client acts in an unacceptable behavior.

Our Research

It simply works on the principle that touching a hot stove creates a negative reinforcement and it is not repeated in future or eating ice cream as a reward, will increase such good behaviour. The varied needs of clients are accommodated by modifying CM slightly.
