Multidimensional Family Therapy (MDFT)

Multidimensional Family Therapy is a multifaceted family-centred treatment of psychological problems especially in youth. MDFT focuses on a wide range of youth behaviour problems such as substance abuse, delinquency, antisocial and aggressive acts, school and family issues, and emotional difficulties, aiming to bring a fruitful and meaningful familial relationship.

Our Research

MDFT family-focused interventions include parental reconnection, engaging in self-help groups or drug counselling, enhancing monitoring and discipline skills, linking parents with social supports and resources, and working with teens and parents individually and conjointly on communication and interactional skills.
